Founding Pastors

Ben and Katie Brinkman have been married since 1997. They started full-time ministry together as youth pastors in 1999 and planted Canvas Church in 2013. They have two adult daughters who both serve in the church and have been a part of building Canvas since the beginning. Ben is the lead communicator and visionary for the team and does so with great humor and Biblical insight. Having graduated from Northwest University with a degree in Ministry and Psychology his messages are both Biblically sound and practical. Ben's favorite thing about church is seeing people's lives transformed by the presence of God. When Ben is not ministering some of his favorite things to do are vacation with his family and play basketball.
Katie graduated from Christian Heritage College (now San Diego Christian College) with a degree in Education and Biblical Studies. She oversees the women's ministry, church staff, and team leads as well as the daily operations of the church. Katie's favorite thing about church is seeing people rise above their past and discover their identity in Christ. She is a fan of vacations with family, a good book, coffee and popcorn.
