Julian
Varela

“Julian Varela is the kind of person you wish you could replicate and if that were physically possible, we’d order 100 of him. He came to Canvas less than a year ago with his parents and immediately offered to help in any way. We needed someone to help with lighting in the Worship Department. Although Juli had no experience in that area, this awesome 15 year old took on the task with a smile and a will to own the process. We quickly found that he’s the kind of guy you can count on not only to be there to get the job done but to take the initiative to learn and make things better. But Juli is so much more than an awesome volunteer – he’s a young man with strong character who approaches everything with gratitude and humility – and that’s inspiring! In a day when you often see people shirk responsibility, he welcomes it and honors God in both his actions and words. We love Juli and are so proud to have him as part of the Worship Department.“[/one_third][one_third]

Shayna Goodman

“Shayna has been a tremendous blessing to both the kids ministry and women’s ministry. She has gone above and beyond in enthusiasm and passion and reaches out to others with a caring heart. “Sofie never lacks a smile on her face and has a gift for gathering people. Sofie made the decision to get baptized this year and has grown in her relationship with God in leaps and bounds. Her passion is contagious and she never lacks boldness in sharing with others what God has done in her life. Sofie has been a blessing to our North County campus in many ways, from set-up and pack-up to the kids ministry. No matter what Sofie does, we appreciate the attitude of humility and joy that she carries with her wherever she goes.”
